Chasing the Phantom
2015

Chasing the Phantom is a series of nine papercut waves, each element of which is the trace of a powerful emotion, translated, transposed and quieted in the act of cutting. It takes its title from the Chinese classic Book of Songs, extending the traditional poetry into contemporary form. Water possesses Yin qualities of endurance, restraint, power and spontaneity, yet it suggests that while problems cannot be solved, they might be outgrown.
